For those of you interested about the P47 I have several books on the P47. It is my favorite piston driven fighter/fighter bomber. These are great sources to read.
Gabby:
A fighter Pilots Life by Gabby himself as told to Carl Molesworth.
Wolfpack Warriors
by Roger A Freeman noted WWII aviation author from Great Britain.
Zemkes Wolfpack:
By again Roger A Freeman as told by Zemke.
Kearby's Thunderbolts, the 348th FG in WWII.
By John C. Stanaway
My two best P47 books are:
Thunderbolt!
By Robert S Johnson with Martin Caidin
I have a first edition of this book that was given to and signed thusly by Johnson "To Paul Briand with best wishes from Robert S. Johnson." Somewhat hard to find even without Johnsons signature.
First editions are pricey and very hard to find.
Again the most definitive book on the P47 ever written from development, model introductions etc.
Repbulic's P-47 Thunderbolt from Seversky to Victory by Warren M. Bodie. Everything you wish to know about the P47. And I mean everything.
This is somewhat of a coffee table sized book. You wish to know something it is there. I have a hard cover edition. Again also hard to find and can be pricey like Johnson's book.
And as Brooke posted I also have to win the winter sky. Very very good book!
