 Its been quite a while since I played 
  Thinking about coming back and was wondering how many of you old timers are still around ?
  I miss the fights and the chatter and can imagine there has been many changes in the past few years,
 
  Is the population decent for good fights ?
 
  Any new areana/game modes ?

 Any new planes/GVs ?

  Has my A20 been well taken care of ? (still wishing for quad 20 mm )

A20's are pretty strong, though no 20's. Recently the meta for fighters has been very disappointing, a lot of people playing with fast planes that aren't perked that will fly higher than you and run away once things don't work out for them, not even trying to make a turn or two.

I never have a hard time finding a fight, but yes it’s usually a Spit16, yak-3 or 51. Lot of score protection going on.

It seems to be a worsening trend for sure. Six months ago when people complained about this I thought w/e, but it really is true. This game is not going anywhere and the meta is getting more and more bland.

edit: I will say that I like the new AI bombing intercept scenarios.

Not sure I’d say good battles. 2 sides rolling one side seems to be the norm. How about lots of targets.

I vividly recall that you never had a need for quad 20mms.  I tried to start a movement to restrict you to the Boston, but no one ever listens to the Oldman.  So you lucked out.

Do others fly A20s?  I will occasionally spot a brave soul who is trying to fly the Havoc like a fighter.  Such people could use your guidance.  Refuse to come back, and their digital blood is on your hands.  I hope you will still sleep at night.

As for fights:  Some things never change.  A20s will never lack greedy and unsuspecting opponents.

Regret that the AvA never recovered, with this exception:  Monday nights feature close-in dogfights by people who thoroughly enjoy dogfighting.  You'll recognize half of the players (the elders), you'll appreciate the new blood (the children), and you'll have fun.

If you were a Rook or a Bish, almost nobody fighting the Knights. Even then they couldn't get their crap together to take more than one base. I spent most of the night chasing running pickers in a 109G14. What a waste of an evening.

Rooks couldn’t attack knights because they’re taking from both sides. Picked a side not to lose but the map is pretty much over for the rooks. Nothing competitive about the overall war, just fish for kills.
