Well... as long as the anger of having to stay at home playing games because of the corona virus causes whining only... In the morning paper it read that the gun shops are running out of both guns and ammunition. How many secondary corona victims will there be when some of the gun owners snap?

oh surely it will happen in some places.
but it will be a statistically irrelevant number vs coronavirus cases.
and the type of person who would snap with a gun would also snap with a baseball bat or moving truck or pail of acid.

but as a general rule i feel like the more armed people there are, the less likely some stupid toejam will happen. not the other way around.

of course i live in a place that has a low population density, and probably the highest per capita gun ownership on earth.

not nearly so scary if you dont live like a sheep/rat in a city somewhere.

(like when my local store ran out of toilet paper, and the word went out people returned a bunch of their extra to help everyone else out. i can actually go get tp right now if i need it)

We are. By law all guns should be stored in a suitable locked cabinet. Not on the bedside table where one granny told the newspaper she'd like to keep hers, hoping she'd never have to use it. We do have quite much guns, all registered except for criminals, but we don't kill other people with them. Statistically about 90% of firearm deaths here are suicides.

Not everyone with a gun is a "gun owner". Just as everyone with a car is not a "car owner". Lots of thieves out there. They use what they steal to take more from others.

the culture is different though. yes i have a gun on my bedside table, and one over the front door, and one on my hip at all times. not to mention a safe or two full of extras.
You could call me a gun nut from your perspective. I would say i was the average law abiding citizen in my area.
they are just inanimate objects, they hold no power on their own.

i wouldnt want to be the granny that isnt allowed an effective means of defense. not to mention deterrent. if you know the old lady is packing you might try somewhere else/

of course my area still has non-human toejam that can kill you that a gun can come in handy for.

ha, or maybe we could turn on the red/green wingtip beacons/strobes.
that would make it a little eaier since the icon tends to hide the plane at night.
