I wonder if those (Il-2) are real screenshots - can't be the same plane - same tail No., diff camo job... Hmmm... But if it is real it looks great.

They are real, and yes, they are different planes.  The top shot shows an early 1 seater that has been field modified to carry a rear gunner.  The lower shot shows a later Il-2 with a factory placed rear position.  Note the damage on the lower one, such as the hole in the wing.  Oleg Maddox says that they are trying to do dynamic damage where the shell actually hits.

You can customize the paintjobs in IL-2 to your liking.  IL-2 also has a nice inbuilt feature: You can personalize your plane with numbers, letters and squad emblems.  No need to repaint the plane - just a few mouse clicks in the game menus.  And all this works also in multiplay!!!
