or are running troops unaffected by HE tank rounds?  I have seen it happen a few times and figured it was a fluke but a recent incident when we were running troops into a GV base and the defender put three shells (i am assuming were HE) right on them with no effect.

Probably right. Next might be the question of whether or not its worth a programming adjustment (true impact of game play). Imagine everyone playing 'sit in the tank waiting for drunks'.  :banana:

Yes.... tank rounds have no affect on troops unless you hit one direct. Makes no sense.

HE rounds from the B-25H mess up the troops pretty badly.

Rounds from the 88 have no affect either.

Only if the HE hits directly like a AP round would - unless something changed in the past 14 months ;)
Explosions (bombs, rockets, HE rounds) never had any impact on running troops.

The code shows that blast radius is suppose to effect troops, but would need someone to verify that there is not a bug.

I was placing 88 rounds right at their feet and nothing. It has been that way for a long time. I just shoot to let the machine gunner's know which direction they are coming.

Someone also mentioned to me that this bug could be map specific and I would not have believe that to be possible but I have found that on certain maps I cannot shoot the main gun of my tank while buried in a tree but other maps I can.  BUT that one bug I dont want fixed :devil, just using it as an example that this bug could be more than meets the eye.

I've never been able to kill troops with an HE blast, and when I reported it was poo-pooed by the intelligencia at large.

 In AH2 I used to bounce a HE round on the ground next to the troops and I would get 2 or 3 of them with a T-34/85.  That does not work in AH3. I have to use the coaxial pintle gun. 

I can still kill a M-3 if I bounce a round off the ground near the driver with the same tank so I know the HE round works for that. The HE round also works for tracking a M-18 if it lands on the ground close to one of the tracks.

Sure you weren't on AP? Do 88s even have HE contact rounds?
