New (old?) guy back in the Aces High fold!

Alright folks, SpinDoc is back. I first joined AH in early 2001, and had many steady years of play under different versions of my in-game ID. Then of course real life gets in the way, and I took a quite long hiatus! I used to fly with the 56 FG, not sure how many of those originals are still around (Nomde?). I'll be getting my flight fundamentals practice and then plan to join a new squad, and really look forward to doing some of the scenario events.

Quick q: has there been an injection of new blood in the game, any advertising efforts to bring more people in? Just curious what the "state of the game" is looking like right now.

Good to have you back, SpinDoc.  Numbers are similar to the early days, less than the middle days, growing again in the now days.  Fights are as always, which is good.

Flew with the 56th for awhile, Yucca and LilMak still fly, not many others.

No ads and the  "steam" launch was a mess so numbers are not any where they should be, but the game is still the best "flying game" there ever was.

I guess Im sort of new blood, just started playing in late 2019. Although, I did play a bit but nor more than  like 10 hours in 2008.

I have since late 2019 like 1400 hours in this game

I've seen at  least 10 vets from the golden years in the past 2 days. The glass is half full Fugi.

I’ve found the Steam iteration to be quite seamless now! I’m still getting my views saved and controls optimized (need that other joystick map to include my manual trim on the hat switch for that extra edge :-), and I’m also missing Mitsu’s sound packs. What’s the best authentic custom sound set today? I downloaded Chalenge’s sick-puppy pack and will try it out later today.

I registered. Tried joining Allies (29/30 slots) but no open checkbox to do so. Therefore, I'm in Axis, FW190s. Still want to fly Allies, P-47s ftw.
