Most if not all U.S. citizens are OK with globalism... I mean I don't see a mass b*tching about China's
threat (and future use) of withholding the meds, led displays and other essential commodities we depend on  :mad:
The education  system for the past 15-20 yrs has done its job... that is, teaching our youngsters to not think for themselves but rather
to take the easier route and do what they are told
Most large companies today are beholding to their shareholders rather than the U.S.
This is not a bad thing in times of prosperity BUT at some point, in my opinion, they need to aside their
drive for profit and the shareholders (of which I am 1) need to not expect the greatest possible return

IMHO the acceptance of globalism is generally based on age, as you pointed out. The younger generation has grown up with and up till now has not experienced the negative aspects of it. :aok

No argument with any of your points. But the Global Trade ship sailed too long ago to bring it back.

American workers expect and deserve a fair wage for a days work and for CEO's looking to minimize costs/maximize profit, the temptation to outsource is like honey to a bear. And its not all low tech like the garment industry anymore. Example, we need lithium batteries in ridiculous numbers. Guess how many are made in the west. Check any of your cars... the VIN code likely says Mexico.

The logistics of repatriating the manufacturing all of the items purchase would be a task I cannot conceive.

Im guessing the due to the political nature of the OP this thread will be closed or moved.

Why do people insist on talking about this crap here. Isnt there some boards dedicated to this stuff?
