What are you guys thinking, bombers GV battle?
As Nef said, RAF vs. Luft. RAF mostly did night bombing but did not do so with much escort other than some Mossies or possibly other fighters here and there as the war went on.
This of course creates an issue with plane/fighter balance and would require some fabrication to make it so. Even then, we just ran an FSO with the Lancaster subbed in for a Short Stirling and with 109E/109F fighters for defense, the Lancs did not do that well. It largely depended on escort, but I can't fathom flying a Lancaster with escort versus 190s and later 109s.
As I said, IMO the biggest issue is the ability to circumvent the 'night time' by adjusting gamma. Gamma can be adjusted so much that it is as bright as day time with an awful looking sky. I would be willing to press on with an event of that type if we could 'lock' gamma settings in the arena, but even then I am sure there are 3rd party programs to get around it.
