Terrain Editor Help File?
« on: August 23, 2000, 06:02:00 PM »
Has anyone had trouble opening the help file?My machine will unzip it but then it asks for a 'graphics conversion filter' for word 97.  I don't have MS word on my puter.  Am I out of luck or should it be able to open to 'wordpad'.  Next is a moot point because I cant get into the instructions but I dabbled around with the editor and when I brought up "grid" it was flip-flopping all over the place??

Same problem here.

This doc should be a .html  or Wordpad doc instead.

BBGunn:
The map/grid moves with the joystick and the keyboard.
Adjust your deadband in the Stick settings and it should stop moving.

That's about all I have learned from the help doc. , since in wordpad it looks like *&#

B.T.W.
I'm gonna try use my buddy's MSWord and export it.

I'll post the link here when done.

I kept  opening it (answered yes to continue) about 6 times or more untill  it just opened text  . IT does this  for every diagram  so  keep going till it does open.  Then  I copied the whole page and pasted it into wordpad and named it  and saved it to my desk top. Now it will open  without having to   go through all the windows error promts. Now all the text is there sans pictures, but the text explains it well enough that  the picture is not a nessesity.
Good Luck

Yup.. but the text is awful to read.

I have converted the Editor Doc from
Word97 format to Wordpad/Word6.0 format.

Since wordpad comes with Windoze, everyone can use this one. (pics included)
