One error left. Any ideas?
« on: February 25, 2001, 12:07:00 AM »
Hi everyone. I have completed the Burma terrain. However, when I 'build' the terrain and place the appropriate files in the standard AH terrain folder and fly them, none of the airfield numbers dispaly. They display just fine in the the Terrain Editor though. Any ideas on what causes this (i.e.- how to fix it?) Thanks,
SD

You need to build terrain again AFTER you place feilds, then save, thats how i got it to work.

You need to put the field numbers in the clipboard map manually.

I'm with Nuttz

Sometimes I exit editor to save and go to desktop then open editor again and click build terrain.

Alt tab out and move .res terrain and put it in the aceshigh terrain.

Some times you'll see a small change in the file size then it tells you do you want to replace the one thats there with this one.

I had a terrain that I know all the objects were correct.  Had to hit build terrain about 9 times.

Sometimes I delected the terrain it made for hit build terrain again.

Rgr that Nuttz and Pokie. I have seen that before. I tried it about 4 times with this terrain already, but will keep trying. Worse comes to worse, I will just add them manually per Camo's suggestion. Thanks for the reply's!

Sorry Sundog misunderstood the question.

Thought you were reffering to the take-off positions on clip board not showing up.

I understand he talks about the field numbers not showing up on the clipboard map.  Like you can see from the official HTC maps, they have drawn the numbers on the clipboard map.  This is what you have to do as well.

The terrain editor shows the field numbers and elevations, but they aren't visible in the game itself. Maybe a thing for HTC to "patch"?

The game FE use to "produce" the field number on top of the clipboard map, but I think in the second or third incarnation of the Editor, HiTech changed it so that you had to manually label the field numbers on the clipboard map bitmaps yourself.
