I think I have found the problem with editor
« on: December 22, 2000, 06:21:00 PM »
First off what     Sundog   had posted about the tower is true
(TE: Placing Base error? <http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/Forum55/HTML/000139,
the first thing I do before placing any AVAILABLE SHAPES or GROUPS in my terrain is delete the  TOWER  by selecting it in the (edit objects) mode and then delete object.  Then I place an airfield (which already comes with an tower).  I find it best to place it over the original (now deleted) towers spot.

IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT IMPORTANT!

What I have found is you MUST HAVE at least 1 AVAILABLE SHAPE (doesn't matter which 1) located at sea level which was the original starting altitude of the terrain.  If you don't weird thing happen.

EG.  I had a very small map in which I first deleted the original tower and placed AFLrg-S.obg  and  then  AFLrg-S.obg
(selected - new 2).  I had all 7 take-off spots and when I crashed the plane I lost all but the hanger spot.  Plus ack from enemy field would shoot at me  then sometimes they wouldn't.  Once I place an AVAILABLE SHAPE (I selected CITY)   then   OBJECT TYPE (I selected VOID) {I left it field owned 1} at sea level it seem like all my problem ended.

SO FOR THOSE WHO HAVE A MAP ALREADY DONE AND THEY HAVE PROBLEMS

1) make back-up of your terrain folder (don't wanted to be blamed for something going wrong)

2) delete    F00TWR0 (tower) in the terrain or by opening   your-map-name.oba file with notepad and deleting
        F00TWR0,twr1,0.000,0.000,0.000,0.0000,0.0000,0.0000,3328,0,1,-1.00,-1.0,-1,0,0,0

line. (save your changes in notepad)

3)Place an available shape at sea level ( o  altitude) in your terrain    object type void

4)Then hit build button

5)Exit and save terrain

6)Place your-map-name.res in your AceHigh terrain

7)Start the game and select your map

I HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOUR TERRAINS

Pokie

Note!  If anyone has already downloaded your map in their game before the fix and they connect to your game at a late date using the same terrain name they may get weird things happening.  All they have to do is delete their copy of    your-map-name.res and then connect to you to get a new one.
This had happened to me and my friend when I was testing.
