Headset or software issue?...
« on: September 20, 2020, 04:10:58 PM »
so recently my headset seems to randomly jumped around. L with a blink. It does it in the WMR environment as well so not a AH issue. Wondering if you've seen this and if it's my headset going bad or a software issue

It may help if you let people know what VR headset you have, How it connects, and how it tracks.

Other information that could be handy is Video Card Make Model and Driver vers as well as Window version a and build number.

Odyssey+ (WMR). Been using my 2080 for 1
5 yrs with it and no problems until now.

My gut is that somehow the headset is failing as I havent changed anything in that computer in over a year

I had a similar issue with my rift cv1 a few years back and it ended up being the hdmi cable. Right where it clipped to the headset to keeep it from unplugging itself had a small break that when bent the wrong way would cut out. Do they sell new cables for them?
Or possibly an update or power issue

Don't forget to try my #1 go-to trick to sort out any Windows related issues: Keep Shift down while clicking Shutdown.

It makes the next start clean instead of using saved and potentially corrupted settings.

Your headset uses optical 'inside out' tracking, so I'd check the lenses for the cameras are clear. I'd also check light sources within your play area, some excessive sources like the sun or strong LEDs can cause issues.
