A Moment of Reflection
« on: September 25, 2020, 02:07:59 PM »
What is your most prominent memory in Aces High? Doesn't have to be good!  :rock

Mine would have to be when I was very young,  10 or 11 I remember hearing an actual WWII vet (wish I could remember his name) explaining what the little leather thing on the bottom of your gunsight is. I don't even remember what he was explaining or what it's actually for but I just remember being amazed that I was getting a first hand account from an actual WWII Pilot. There were quite a few guys in the discussion, does anyone remember anything like that?  :headscratch:

That or the goon invasion. That was a beautiful day lol.  :x

Close third for that time we found Cybro :neener: :neener:

The first time I got the vive pro to work correctly and I found myself sitting inside a 109f4.

Your accuracy doubles as does your kills..

The planes are not small dots but look life size when turning around you

Went from trackir to vr and cannot go back

Would love to try it but have heard it's not for those who wear eyeglasses. Still the case?

It's less convenient but doable.

Many headsets allow adjustment to make room for your glasses.  My HTC Vive does.    Slightly less FOV.  Always the possibility that the glasses will rub on the VR lens.  Mine have and left a little mar spot, but it must not be in my field of vision because I don't notice it.

You can get lens inserts for some if you are not going to be sharing your headset often.  Maybe when I get the next great version I'll just go get a contact lens script optimized for the VR focus distance.

I'm with TrackIR Now and always struggling with the settings... I'm new to VR is there a base VIVE model I should be looking for?

Some of my favorite moments were 1v1s in the old original DA with Batfink, skyrock, phish, blue knights, and the Army of muppets. Really great fights learning ACM and had a lot of fun.

I gave TrackIR a shot a few years ago. Had it not been for constantly having to center the pipper when taking a shot, I'd probably still be using it.

I have so many memories from the DA, it would be really hard to choose one lol. I've spent at least 65 % of my total playtime there honestly.

It's useful at times but difficult with my setup i guess.. I get rather limited view esp from top back left and right. I'm still tweaking settings and what not every day to try to get it perfect lol.

First FSO with VF-17, we were in F4U’s and a squad of zekes turned and dove into a fight below us. It looked like a scene from a movie. We jumped them and we had at least 10 kills, pretty sure it was a lot more than that.

Sounds like it would've been awesome!
I have a few FSO memories, not many but all were fun lol.

Deflection shots are easier. Long range shots on low aspect targets are harder due to lower detail
