We was forced to shut down 1 of our small businesses (small cafe) luckily we were able to get the Payroll loan to cover all of our employees. In the end it’s gonna kill small businesses. Luckily we have another business that was unaffected.. but lots of our friends lost everything. Several businesses in our small town closed. 3 restaurants. I think we grossly overreacted and panic shut down the country before we knew what it really was.

If you don’t own your own company and work for yourself you’ll never relate to my opinion and that’s totally fine. But don’t be upset when your locals are out of business and more Walmart’s, dollar generals, aldis, Chili’s, Outback Steakhouse, etc take over all of our towns.

I think you’d be surprised by how many small business got the loan. It was available to everyone. All you had to do was have a accountant or do it yourself of course, to set it up. If a small business didn’t take advantage of that then it would be their own fault. The communication on how to apply etc could have been better but hell it was in the middle of vast unemployment and confusion.  Restaurants won’t fully recover from this for many years. We spent a lot of cash during that downtime. Banks still needed to be paid, taxes still needed paid, lost food because of it  plus loss of revenue for a solid month in our busiest time of the year will set us back several years. It all could have been avoided. Our small county had 1 case when they shut it down. The most we’ve had since would be 4. So ya little overreacting hurt us.

Our business got it. I applied for it myself, as I am the Controller. Our business has remained opened the entire time due to being essential, no one has gotten sick. Many of us got sick in early January from someone who got sick in California, which could have been covid, but do not know. No one got seriously ill to go to the hospital, and a few my employees are in the 60s.

Lot of speculation that Trump got Covid from the debate. It was the only place that his team didn't have 100% controll over. It would make a lot of sense.

Nice. I wish they would have targeted small businesses more because as you know we pay more taxes than anyone.

I also believe that if they would tax small businesses less our economy would preform much better. But it seems no one wants to do that. If we had extra money we wouldn’t hoard it we would give it to our employees and improve the business. I don’t understand why government won’t do that.
