It can't be. 109 pilots scared of Soviets?

There is a grand battle on October 17.  Runs 1 pm to 9 pm Eastern, and you can fly whenever you want during that time.

There are several brave Bf 109 pilots signed up:  brave Clu, intrepid DarkWood, and Ditto -- glorious CO of the axis side, resplendent among his multitude of medals for air gallantry.

But the axis is in need of 6 more Bf 109 pilots.

Where are they?  Are they scared off by the Soviet VVS?  Have they become soft due to consumption of too much schnapps?
