There's always the option of getting better and not depending on late war speed to save your ass. It's not like eny just started a couple weeks ago, it's been here long before me. I adapted and learned planes up and down the roster instead of throwing a fit.
snobby answer. your assumption that people need crutches is not a accurate one. sometimes you are the lone defender at a base fighting off multiple tanks and m3s and you just need an D-Hog with ords. NOPE! ENY has shut off all loaded US fighters.
I'd say its accurate, if you can't function in anything else then you have your crutch. Also may want to take a look at what planes carry bombs, F4U-1A is in the 20's and carries a 1000 lber. It's also not the the only one.
