Bf 109G-6 10./JG 51
« on: October 25, 2020, 06:32:12 PM »
This is a standard Bf 109G-6 which belonged to 10./Jg 51 in the late summer or early autumn 1944. Pilot unknown. This squadron was involved in heavy fighting the last half of 1944 beginning with Operation Bagration in the Minsk area and continuing through into the Soviet invasions of East Prussia and Poland.

The reference photo shows a camouflage pattern on the spine and engine cowling that indicates it was built at the Erla factory, and I based this scheme on a typical Erla scheme with large mottles on the fuselage in four colors and saw-tooth pattern on the wings. Because the photo showed the fuselage sides as being very dark, I added extra mottles in dark green to fill in most spaces where the underside gray showed through.

Another amazing 109! Great work!
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!
