Easy to find the huge issues.

Many red flags are found on the internet.

Even facebook itself says they will leverage vr users info to third parties.

tbf everybody leverages users info. FB are just being honest. And the EFF are conflating anonymity with privacy. They are not the same thing. A VR world with complete anonymity will devolve into a complete cesspit of vindictive users and cyber stalking.

I understand why people are concerned, but I can see benefits in removing complete anonymity.

And as I have pointed out, FB only have the information you volunteer. There is nothing stopping you from having a barren FB account.

Recent studies show it takes about 5 minutes to ID you using your VR use.

It probably takes about the same amount of time when you log on to the internet. They got you covered whether it is through FB or just you browsing for toilet paper.

You guys wanna see some crazy sh... stuff... download the IPvFoo plugin for chrome. It's a useful tool if your a networks guy... what it does is show what connections are established to websites when you browse a page. Some pages like the HTC ones are very simple (one or two addresses), but go to a news website and you'll see it's a very different story.

IPvFoo is available for Firefox as well.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

Privacy for convenience..that is the price you are paying to use the internet.

Most ppl dont have a clue.

Big tech is not your friend but most are too lazy to care as long as prime gets their crap to them in 24hrs

Or just setup a shell account (like me, I have no friends).

Giving Facebook the cold shoulder seems a bit overreactive to me. They are throwing huge amounts of money at VR not just in tech but also in building a community.

I've worked in IT security for about 20 odd years now. I'm well aware of what facebook do/have done. It's up to you what information they get, so unless they employ psychics I'm quite unsure what you think they'll gain from a shell account?
