Miss Donna Mae II

I'm sure most of us have seen or heard about this in one form or another. Here it is in color.

"B-17G "Miss Don(n)a Mae II" accidentally drifted under another B-17G in the group, and was subsequently hit by falling 1,000lb ordnance. Berlin, May 14, 1944.

This photograph shows the moment of impact, knocking off the left tail stabilizer. The plane was sent into an uncontrollable spin, the entire crew of 11 men were killed."
