Note: Just to clear the air this is not a good bye post.

Hello everyone,

Recently you might have noticed a lack of heavy bombers flying high over Rook & Bishop airspace.  This year has been absolutely wild for a multitude of reasons, but has also opened up some new opportunities for me.  In a few weeks I will be starting down a new career path and I couldn't be more excited.  My new work will be taking me overseas for the foreseeable future with only one day (still unknown) off a week.  My new time zone will be GMT+3, and I look forward to meeting and flying with some of our euro pilots!  So for the time being "Riftval's Bombers" will be grounded until I get situated and settled in.  However do not fear I will get the gang back together as soon as I can and we can continue terrorizing the workers at the Rook & Bishop strats!

The last Riftval's Bomber's mission of 2020 will be launching.

Good afternoon everyone!  Friday December 18th Riftval's bombers will flying its last sortie of 2020!  Riftval's Bombers specialize in High Altitude Strategic Bombing.  If you want to fly with a bunch of other bomber pilots at 25,000ft then this might be the fit for you.  Riftval's Bombers in not a official squad just a loose coalition of bomber pilots of all chess pieces who like mass formation level bombing.  This week we will be rolling our trusty B17Gs.  This is a walk on event, though if squads let me know they want to fly in advance it makes mission planning a lot easier.  All heavies and little friends welcome.  Be sure to spread the word, this is our chance to bring a little bit of FSO coordination into the MA!

If you can't launch with us at our mission launch time do not fear, we will have a second group rendezvousing with the main formation mid flight!  Just hop in channel and let me know you are standing by and we will get you linked up as soon as possible.

=================
--Friday Night Formation--
=================

This Friday we will be trying to fly in a diamond formation.  If we have enough aircraft we will have two escort fighters for every flight.  Trailing bombers should try to keep a 200 - 300m spacing from the Lead Flight. (excluding Rear Bomber that will try to maintain 450m max.)  Fighter Escort positioning is determined by Formation Lead (Lead Flight Bomber) this is subject to change depending on how things work out over the next few missions.

-Important-
-All trailing bombers are encouraged to use (.wingman PLAYERNAME) on their formation leader. (unless directed otherwise)
-Flight Leads please make sure your manifolds are set to 40.  If you set it any higher those who have used the .wingman command on you will quickly fall behind.
-Escort Fighters please stay close to the bombers, you are to try to act as a deterrent perusing the enemy from the formation should be a last resort.

I am not sure how many people will be showing up to these but we will all be sharing the same comms channel (Ch177).

Congratulations on your new career path.  I hope this works well for you.

I haven't been able to enjoy your bomber missions often because of schedule issues.  But those times I have joined, either escorting or intercepting, it has been a lot of fun.   :salute

Hey man that's great to hear I haven't had the chance to fly with the DHBG yet.  As long as you all are having fun more power to them.  Regarding the numbers I really couldn't care less, its about the experience and folks you fly with.

Mission briefing will start at 2000 US EST tomorrow night on the dot.  If any of you fly with a cameraman in the back make sure his camera is rolling!  <S>FBTrev95/Riftval

Signed in early to fly a bit and warm up. 61 bish, 33 knights, 60 rooks. Might add that both bish and rooks were attacking knights. Was not in the mood for that. Beginning to lose interest in this "game".
