Things like this and the current map certainly don't do the game well

No guns on the RV8, doesn't impact gameplay.

The fact it is usable in the MA is not right. Totally wrong place for it

Being scolded every time I mention that the rearm is as gamey as gamey gets in skewing what a "sortie" is...maybe I need to lighten up.

That said, I see no harm in having an RV8.  We do have sheep alerts too. Relax, have fun, be silly and kill red planes.  :old:

Haystacks around the airfields. Snowmen instead of haystacks all over the place. Christmas trees lit in front of the towers - shouldn't there be a dimout??? A great indestructible pumpkin flying around the MA on a certain day. Santa Claus in his reindeer powered indestrucktible sled flying around the MA AND changing country at will... Totally wrong place place for the serious war scene called the Melee Arena!  :old:

Some history on the relevance of the RV-8 in-game.

Back in the day, there were several AH player conventions, mostly held near Grapevine, TX (Close to HTC HQ) After the traditional Saturday night banquet, an "Evil Con Mission" took place. Those attending were provided a rather special weaponized object that flew  :devil  Given that HiTech had recently acquired an RV-8, that was the Evil Con Mission aircraft one year. except this RV-8 had limitless Vulcan cannons    About 80 of these were let loose in the MA that night. Oh the humanity!(and endless tears & whines)

The following day, Dale explained the RV-8 was used to model certain flight characteristics in-game. A few of the Con attendees asked if the RV-8 could be enabled upon request (sans Vulcan cannons) and the wish was granted.

And there you have it.

The RV-8 is not available on all maps.  You can activate it on some, but not on others.  I think it would make a cool scout plane for tank spotting.

It's a glitch in the automatic arena setup for the map switch. It will likely be adjusted Monday.

I remember a raid that was done once with a large number of RV-8's.....it was hilarious watching people run away when we surrounded them....if only they had guns....
