Trump was shunned by the Republican party during the primaries. He was elected as a means to give the middle finger to the status of Republicans in politics. If you don't believe this... read any democrat focused publication. The mistake Dems made was thinking that the public wouldn't give them the exact same middle finger.Many support Trump for very simple reasons that are somewhat removed from the politics of the day: He genuinely seems to want to make the best decisions for Americans and America. He wants there to be more jobs. He wants less things made over seas. He wants more stability. The fact that the dem party did everything they could to fight that while the republicans stood by and watched should tell you what career politicians are actually out for.
