I was running the DX11 version and for some reason, the screen would freeze.
I dont know about THAT severe type of hiccup freeze , but minor 1 second long periodic freezes in dozens of video games that offer directX11 were from some form of GARBAGE COLLECTION in the video card and libraries.
In recent years the code to do that spreads out the garbage collection more and does nto do it in long annoying delay.
Even though I have a 1080ti i use directX9 versions of games when I can, if it is competitive, because of my past rage at minor hiccups in large view 3d games.
i usually use the non-directX11 version of aces high, the dircetx9.
Sorry to hear about your big problem.
not enough system ram? not enough free C drive space? not enough free GPU ram (tools can show that real time).
maybe some background app or tool was updating itself after downloading, even though your mouse and keyboard indicate a active user.
maybe late night/early morning DISK DE-FRAGMENTATION forced on you in windows 7... i permanently disable disk defragment in OS in windows.
too much to ponder.
sorry about your issue.
