Decatur County, GA Airfield
« on: January 17, 2021, 10:57:01 PM »
I’m a bit late in posting this, having the fried quail the other night reminded me of it. So back on March 10, 2019 I went on a quail hunt in southern Georgia. After we were done we drove back to the Decatur County Industrial Air Park Airport just northwest of Bainbridge, GA and right across from our plane was a pale blue and white building with the Aces High logo above the front door and murals of a P-51 mustang, P-38 lightning and P-40 warhawk on the front of the building. Hate I didn’t have time to walk in and see the old salts who may have been in the game a time ago, but was fun to see such a random sighting of AH out in the world. Anybody know who game handles that could have set that up? Afraid I don’t have an account to an image hosting site like photo-bucket anymore, or I’d post the picture.

Racking my brain that sounds so familiar trying to remember who it is

Great find! Your guess is as good as mine on that behind the jug. If they were keeping with the USAAF theme - then perhaps a more frontal shot of another P-51 judging by what appears to be a large radiator scoop beneath the propeller.

Is that a remnant from an AH Convention perhaps? Though I don't remember any in Ga.  :headscratch:
