I tried to fly fighters early on with NO success..... I found myself in a bomber, and took to the B17.....the rest is history...the guy still can't fly a fighter and play the game! Just glad the game has a place for everybody <S>
Very similar to my beginnings in Air Warrior!  Every attempt to fly a fighter resulted in me spinning into the ground.  Then my Krait Squadron CO, Spiff, used to take me as a gunner in his B17 where we often had fun with him flying and me in the nose gun as he turned with attacking fighters!  Eventually I tried flying one myself and loved it.  The B17 continues to be my favourite bomber.  :D

Has no one told 999000 that flying 500 ft AGL was not recommended for a bomber in enemy territory?

My favorite are Lancs just due to the bomb load but sniping some over zealous fighter on your six is great fun.  :airplane:

This game does indeed have something for every skill.

I wish I had the memory to remember who I met and flew wth back in the AW days.  My modem quality was always crap, but had loads of fun while the game lasted.

When I'd get a kill on a bomber in formation and it was one of his, I didn't bother with the other two.

Going from dialup to a cable modem made AH possible/enjoyable for me

That goes for the entire internet :)

As a fellow buff pilot, it's always good to wing up with 999000 or "Nines" as we came to know him when I flew with Precision Squadron.

since Jan 2008.

I've played with some very nice gentlemen, and I've played with some real salamanders.

I'd love for the numbers to be 5X more, there are dozens and dozens of good people I'd love to have back in game.

Sadly, too many of the good guys have passed.

I started in WBs 1.11, I'm just lurking here right now but I'm getting a new system (finally) and hope to be back up in the AH skies soon. Howdy to any and all of the old peeps.  :rock
