hitechcreations website update
« on: June 18, 2021, 01:50:54 PM »
All for slacking but when you ask someone to pay $15 a month for a service, you would expect the website to be up to date at least

As the site shows info and events from March, I do not think that helps new subs - I would be leery

Don't take my reply the wrong way...

Instead of posting a thread like this,  don't you think that it would have been better to call HTC or private message HiTech and ask him about it

Aa and for those with the knowledge and know how, offer HiTech some voluntary help and let him decide how he would rather do it.....

It's a damn shame that rude people ran off Kanth...she was doing a great job helping Skuzzy with all the websites and stuff

Step up and offer your support and services and watch what happens

Didn't take it the wrong way TC

As I do not see the the sites home page often, I was hoping it was just a web update slip that could be quickly corrected

On another total random thought, maybe a modern refresh/redesign of the AH Landing page would be nice.

It would be something like: https://getbootstrap.com/docs/5.0/examples/blog/  - just a lot more planes and WW2 stuff and such.

Only the front page tho. Doing frontend work sometimes sucks :), and myself as a programmer sometimes don't like it when others take my code and rewrite it/do something else with it (yes even a basic web page), so I totally understand HiTech leaving the page as is. I started AH in 2018 so its been more or less the same-y looking to me, just very old school style web design.

Maybe I'll be bored enough to make a small demo project this weekend.   :rofl

I tend to post the updates regarding Special Events on the home page. I've been busy with tax season and summer projects at work, though.

I expect the community to help out in advertising our great game. Sadly, due to posts like this, my expectations are never too high.  :aok

TC is right.  Criticisms like this in the open forum do not help.  The negativity does not bring more players in.  Yes, the website could look better, but the comments in this forum could also be a lot better.

If I had a business and its public facing website was outdated, you would all have permission to inform me about it in a public fashion without fear of hurting my feelings lol

Call it tough love if you have to but the games site should be kept up to date

I am calling it out as I love this game over any other and do not want it to disappear any sooner than it has too.

More see the sites homepage than they read this bbs

Keeping your website updated is basic biz these days

What should I do when a player believes he can call me a slacker? That is a rule 4 violation.

Or by association calling the person who donates free time to the support of this game the same.

You should dump him, of course! Is it frustrating when people call for rule changes or removal of maps? That seems to be an ongoing topic too!

Not really unless they put an insult in the request. Imagine how different this thread would be if the OP was.

The front web page has not been updated since March, I would like to see it kept up to date.

That would be a respectful post stating what you wish vs comments and assumptions of the WHY we have not updated it recently.
