Anonymity and team work is key to a map win
« on: June 30, 2021, 03:46:34 AM »
Nice video on how to White flag, De-ack, and drop dar with Lancasters 18 500lb x 4k cookie setup, no resistance(because a good map reader and mud mover always works away from the hordes). Will post another video on how to do it under pressure against defenders and a more detailed video on how to WF/De-ack a town with bombers at another date :rock  :neener: :salute

10 minutes of absolute perfection after hours of time investment... surviving Rook and Bish hordes in the process, over and over again

How many passes to wf and deack?

I can do it in 3.  First pass is WF and 3 guns.  The other two are guns only.

Right, because rolling undefended bases is hard...

actually is not as easy as you think. when you only have 1 or 2 players doing it,  it's stressful and quite fun.  a single player upping and your chances of taking the base is iffy.

the other day a player noticed that a base with no town had been deacked and hangars destroyed.  fortunately vh came up faster.  we upped 2 werbies and killed the troops as troops were running. then bombers killed vh, 1 min later 1 fh came up as we quickly upped 2 fighters, fh went down. bombers were flying low trying to engage us, we ignored them. went for the m3s. 2 eny fighters showed up I killed one but died.  my parter killed 3 m3s and the other fighter when he went down. habgers came up based was saved.

difference between undefended and defended was 10 to 15 seconds, it maybe it was luck.

Same. Id like to see it done in 2 passes :)

I think a Tu2 formation can WF in 2 passes and then work the guns pretty expeditiously

There are quite a few that can take out the town in 1 pass with B24s. Then an adddional pass for guns.

WF a town is possible with the 2k bombs 1 pass in 24's and 29's or Lancs with the 14 1k bombs/9 1k bombs and cookie.

WF/De-ack is not possible in 2 passes due to the orientation of the guns and limited splash damage of 2k bombs

It is possible to WF/De-ack with B-17's but you will end up gunning down guns and that gets risky if you dont like losing planes.

The best setup for towns by oneself hands down is Lancasters with the 18 500lbers and 4k cookie. It will always take 3 passes there is no way around that in any bomber  However when done right you should have 4-6 bombs left over. That allows for dropping dar, ords, and potentially VH.

When a base is defended and an interceptor is climbing to stop me I will always drop on town buildings first to get it white flag. You can get it done with 2 lancs but i prefer 3 when dropping the buildings. After that drop it doesnt matter if I lose 2 planes so long as I have one left its getting deacked and dar dropped.

Biggest problem i run into in filming a defended base is im so locked in i forget to hit the record button so ill try and remember to do so this week. WF/De-ack is not hard once you learn the lines to take. What is and always will be hard is getting 10 troops into the map room regardless of whether its defended or not. Its only more difficult if someone shows up to defend.

Its not about what "I" can do. Its about what we as players can do. There are quite a few players out there that want this knowledge and ask me about it. So i share on bbs. Obviously it rubs some the wrong way but they arent the target audience and are irrelevant to the conversation at hand  :ahand

I am open to training anyone willing to learn the tricks of the trade in bombing. Sadly the vast majority of this community who fly bombers just dont know the tricks and skills I have aqquired ober the years yet invest the same amount of time in sorties. So to anyone here reading if you want to learn some new things you can always PM and we can get to work

You ever seen a grown man fly a stuka with the 1800kg bomb and hit a town center?

I was bored and was thinking of making a sarcastic video about how I bomb*$*rd. In general, your write up is good. I just like to be dumb and have fun. So heres my guide:

how to bomb****:

step 1: choose plane. Actually, you don't get to choose. Fly b24s with 8x1000lbs.
step 2: choose target. now you might say, why not choose your target first? see step 3:
step 3: always fly B24s. maybe increase/decrease fuel load depending on mission
step 4: autoclimb to altitude while watching tv. maybe do some laundry.
step 4.5: if you are bored, practice drilling where bandits can attack you other than your dead 6. BANDIT 12 O CLOCK HIGH. BANDIT LOW 7. and test fire your guns for funsies because thats what the real bomber pilots did over the channel (well, b17 crews that is)
step 5: check your altitude. are you above 10,000 feet? yes? level off. have some fun, even if you get shot down.
step 6: continue to target. engage bandits fiercely like the salamanderly porcupine you are with your sexy 50cal bullet spam
step 7: if not dead, bomb the town!
step 8-9-10: calibrate gunsight. open bomb bay doors. check speed. check angles. check for bandits. panic a little bit. no pressure. dont mess up.
step 11: see steps 8-10 again, but check your 6.
step 12: rtb baby another b24 bomb**** night. Nurse your big beautiful birds that dont need no fighter escort back home

Also Merv - do you have an nVidia graphics card? look into Shadowplay. If not, look into https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Broadcaster_Software   --   https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio

you dont have to use it to stream, but its nicer than a bandicamp watermark :)
