Why remove?  The mid war list seems to satisfy the majority of players.  Removing some planes to suite a minority could have an effect on the number of players.  $.02.

Personally I say leave them in.  There's always going to be a best tool for the job, they just happen to be it.  All you'd do is move people to whatever the next best tool they find is.

I think it would just increase the number of A6Ms and Spitfires in flight.

There always will be some planes that are better at knife-fighting than others.  MNM altitude restrictions negate some of the energy fighters' advantages, but that just makes it more challenging to fly them there.  Hey, people are having a good time as is, why fuss with that?

Agree.  If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

Knife fighting in MNM is what sets it apart from the MA.  Get rid of the turney planes and you might as well allow HO shots, raise the ceiling, and allow only late model aircraft (aka what you can get 24/7 in the MA).

Of course you knew I would side with the turney planes!  :D

I was thinking more like setting up timed planeset where say everyone would fly the Brewster for 15 min then another plane is chosen..like koth but without the single life eliminations

Not sure how easy or quick that is to do...or if anyone else would like it  :)

Just an idea

Well, I guess I'm in the minority on this from other posts, but I believe these planes should be removed, as well as the a6m3. They are completely opposite of the super E planes which in effect creates similar results being that they are just too effective in this type of atmosphere. It creates the " I can't beat it, therefore I'll join it" situation. If people join the "next best turning bird" like a spit9 or Ki84. Those planes would still require a bit more skill in the turn fight while not being able to turn as well, thus evening the overall fight, as more planes can be competitive in the low alt short distance furball atmosphere.

Just my 2 cents about this.

Leave them in. Right now there's a good mix of turner-burners and planes that don't turn well but are fast. Any time you consider limiting peoples plane choices, you risk losing some of the player base. I suspect for many people the MNM plane set / arena setup is actually their break from the repetitive nature of the MA. Besides the once a month Axis v. Allies setup provides a nice change from the normal MNM knife fight scenario.

Thanks for hosting Jaeger!

It is the best place for practice as you get a weeks worth of fights in about an hour

I like the idea.  Perhaps alternate between a fast plane and then a turney plane each 15 minutes.

Another great night thanks to Jaeger and no I don't mean just for the kills :D

I’m so glad you had Jaeger’s dance card last night, instead of mine.  He was much more deserving!
