B29 takeoff primer

Would appreciate tips & tricks needed to lift a B29 with 50% fuel and 40 500 lb eggs off the runway. Selecting a runway with no impending hiils or mtns is a given, Thanks.

I start by raising flaps, ideally use a large base with the longest runway not blocked by trees. Experiment off line to find the base that fulfills those needs. The plane rotates at 140 knots. I have made several new maps (waiting for HT to put them in rotation) and have several large bases set up to allow B29's fully loaded to takeoff.

So no flaps at anytime during the TO? Does applying brakes for the initial few seconds gain anything?

I'm usually able to get wheels up, tho I may do so after running out of runway. What frustrates me is getting control of the plane once airborne. Could you please elaborate on the process until the plane has established a stable climb rate?

1. I use brakes to run up to full WEP, then release.

2 You will always run out of runway fully loaded, its hard even with a partial load. Sometimes I'll hit one notch of flaps at 120 knots, but by 150 knots, flaps are all the way in.

Assuming a RW with no trees, hills, etc....
loadout 40 500's  50% fuel
Flaps set 0
All brakes engaged at start-up...released when full RPM's reached
WEP engaged
Flaps set 2 notches at end of runway and pull back for 5-10 o climb
Set flaps 1 @ 140.....flaps 0 at 160
Maintained 10 o auto climb.
