This B-26C named "The Shark" was flown by Lt. Col. George Gould, CO of the 454th Bomb Squadron. It flew the first of its 111 combat missions on April 8th 1944 before ending its career with a crash landing on March 24th 1945. Like many natural metal finish aircraft delivered to the 9th Air Force this one had its top surfaces given a coat of camouflage paint, in this case in what looks like RAF dark green. It also featured shark mouth nose art, rare for a B-26 outside of the MTO-based 444th BS.
