Putting things into perspective, the top 5 pilots (fighter mode) compared to the median fighter score of tour 264 (from all pilots with at least 10 sorties)

A few things:
Atlau could probably not have achieved those numbers if he was a European daytime pilot. If I hadn't stayed up until 5am and done a lot of Komet sorties, my own k/h would have been much lower than it already is. It's all about having kill opportunities in the first place these days.
What's impressive is his hit %. I have been at 17, even at over 20% myself before, but I was shooting mostly bombers. Almost 18% against a lot of fighters is outstanding.
Running doesn't help much with one's score.
"Run run, gotta protect your precious score" is nonsense. it only 'protects' K/D. But if you run a lot your k/h (maybe the most important stat) and kill points will suffer. If anything, we runners are protecting our Egos
