gaslighting? I stated facts. There's a difference.
Yeah ok. In a condescending manner. If you get frustrated with someone elses opinions like that, maybe you should take a break from the internet for a bit.

Umm I think you've got it backward, I'm not frustrated in any way whatsoever. And occasionally the ack does get me. But the acks is a known, it hasn't really changed in a long time. So if I die in the ack (CV or field) I write it off to my own poor judgement. I just find it funny that someone who has played the game so long has a hissy when they fly into CV ack and die.

If anyone else (especially someone not so well known) was upset with the game and decided to leave, would it cause this much furor?

I'm just irritated with overall gameplay. Don't get to play much and when I log it's small scattered fights on a huge map only to fly 20 minutes to get instantly blown away because I dared to get near the field or 3 freaking K from a CV to engage someone.

Vulcan, you might think it's just a regular thing, but I'm tired of "regular". Been dealing with it for a long time and it just seems like it's getting worse or never getting better. I've held out a while because this was one of my passions, but im just irritated with it. Tired of getting ganged by 4 18k P51s, 190D and spit16 at the same time, tired of having to spend too much time twittling my thumbs to get to a base. Tired of my team having no fights on the huge map and forced to switch, only for the tide to change an hour later and leave me fighting ack to attack a base for some sort of action. It sucks to watch all of the furballers leave. When there is no more emphasis on ACM and everyone just has to jump you in a fight going 450 to get the kill. You can call it "muh SA" all you want, but not all of us want to fly a P51D at 19k for 20 minutes to have success. It really is the most boring way to fly. Ive done it and proved it in a Temp. Is that really what you want the game to be? I think some of these guys here really feel my grief and sentiment, and I thank them for that.

Bollocks, it's the same it's always been. Same thing used to happen in WB. Same thing used to happen in WW2Online. The best thing you can do is turn around and go find a fight somewhere else. tbh most of the time when I'm out of proxy range I just bail, I won't give them a free kill but I don't give a flying f about my score.

I fly odd times because AH peak clashes with real life, I still manage to find enough fights to have fun.

I have young 3 boys, if they get angry at a cartoon game they know it's time to step away from the game and walk the dog or something.

It's not the same as its always been. People use to have pride in ACM and learning something more than just BnZ in muh easy run plane. The maps use to have fights on all sides during the day because there was enough players. It's killing me when I log in on Saturday afternoon and there is BowlMa or CraterMa with scattered small dars and really no fighter action with 60 players. If I switch, who knows if that medium dar on the other side represents a good fight. All I see constantly is both sides ganging the Bish to a pulp until they get 25%, then both sides will leave to go fight each other leaving the bish with no action. There just isn't enough people or choke points to make it worth taking off when I might see 1 or 2 red guys to shoot at who are 20k that I've got to search for an engage on these large maps. Only for them not to roll again if i kill them because it takes too long. Or my team is hoarding and there is no point for me to take off because the other team doesn't want to fight back. I can go fight the hoard by myself, but that is a 20-30 minute sortie taking off from a back field and hoping I don't get jumped by 5 30k P51Ds that bring me to the deck for more guys to jump in. All I can do is voice my dissatisfaction about what I'm witnessing with regards to gameplay and maps on the weekend. I can tell its not good for the game when I only see 100 players during primetime. The biggest reason for that is lack of fights because there is no incentive for a path to action. People want furballs and big action. Some of you will disagree, but the #s speak for themselves. I just wish there was some adjustments to be made to make the fighter aspect better. I wish ack could be toned down just a bit because the defender doesn't have to worry about a 20 minute flight. One person attacking a base by themselves has a very hard time dealing with ack. After 2 passes your plane is either gone totally, or on the verge. A noobie, is going to get tired of this flying that far again. A noobie wants big action and wants to know where to go to be apart of the fight. Ack isn't going to defeat a huge hoard anyway. I just find it so irritating to get instantly blown out of the sky by a field gun or puff ack when when I'm in the middle of ACM maneuvers after spending 10 minutes twittling my thumbs to get there. If I am having trouble with this, you can bet so many others are too when an attacker spends 10-15 minutes getting to a base only to die quickly.

There are some good maps that provide really great action on all sides during off hours. Those maps always show better #s in the 120s to 150s. That's what we need to push for. Just please put these huge maps with far bases to the side for a while and you will see better #s. I'm just really irritated with gameplay and it's finally caught up to me.

I agree that a lot of the fields on many maps are too far apart.

However, I don't know where "20 minutes to fly 25 miles" comes from.  You can take off in a Spit16 with 100% fuel, break the dar ring at 15k, and be 25 miles away going 285 IAS in less than 7 minutes.  Probably frustrating for a newb to fly 6 or 7 -- or even 10 -- minutes to get shot down, but it's not "20 minutes".

7 minutes just to get there in a spit16, one of the fastest climbers in the game. Then you fly around for 7-15 minutes hoping for a couple of kills, maybe longer depending on how much gas you have, then If you don't die, going to land, which takes another 3-5 minutes. Overall, a 15-25 minute sortie if you don't die quickly after the 7 minutes of twitteling your thumbs to get there. In video games, 7 minutes is a while, especially when you aren't really doing anything. Especially if you die instantly to ack when you get there, or get jumped by the gang. I'm talking about roughly a 20 minute sortie getting ended in 2 seconds from a puff ack or field gun while you are performing ACM against an opponent. So no, I don't think it's an exaggeration, especially when most players don't have more than a 5 K/H. That's extremely low for a combat game.

Ive been back a month after a 14 year break.  Same group of guys that want to fight. Been fortunate to find them most of the time. My ceiling of 5k makes it interesting. Lasting longer before death. Still cant hit sh*t but can land most of the time..

Ok, a 20 minute sortie is different than 20 minutes to go 25 miles.  My wife's Toyota can do that.   :D

There are one or two maps (ie. ND Isles) that have really long drives from the spawn point, even for a M-8. I usually log off and come back the next night.
I realize some maps are better for the dogfighters, some for the guys that like to bomb stuff, and others for GV'ers. On any given night there is something for most players in AH.

If there is an abundance of air cons I have to switch to a tank even though the M-8 is my favorite ride. We all adapt to the terrains in AH. Just roll with the punches.
This is a fun sim.  Take a break when you need to.
