clouds, sadly, don't belong with these player numbers
« on: May 25, 2022, 08:19:03 PM »
They're pretty, they're tactical, but we just can't get the coordination that we used to have given player numbers.
I am adamantly anti-bomb and bail but I just did that for the first time in forever today (well, I didn't bomb, no vis on anything) despite a pursuing fighter because there was absolutely no point in me dying bravely for team for nothing with no ppl counting on me to dive below the 7k clouds and do what I could.

Nothing will happen with my complaint but I was unhappy I had to do that to the fighter and I had to say something.

...so...one might ask, "Why didn't you shoot at the pursuing fighter?"  After all, you might have shot him down and covered yourself in virtual glory.

Just asking.

- oldman (and also wondering WTF do clouds have to do with this, given the multiplicity of potential targets?)

Wasn't worth the time or effort. Sure I might have killed him but so what? Better to start over somewhere else and offer apologies.

And for the cloud thing a buff pilot has to decide on one (or maybe 2) relevant targets based on fuel status, import, and bombload. If clouds cover target + no support no point.

Fighting in clouds is good fun.

It is. But I wasn't there for a fight, I was there to help my team, and took 30min of game time to do it. A wasted 30 minutes.

Again, my I doubt my complaint will change anything. But here it is anyway.

A long flight to a fight that evaporates before I arrive tends to bring out the chute in me....

I'm sorry but if you think your time is wasted playing the game then I can't relate. I miss every facet.  :(

This is a lett'r of loveth and peace; i shall not lash out 'gainst anyone, and i shall not useth specific names of individuals 'r 'rganizations yond breaketh down our communities.  Yond hath said, alloweth me m'rely pointeth out yond clouds off'rs nothing but vile insults and banal rhet'ric.  The bulk of this lett'r is a critiqueth of clouds’s stuck-up barbs.  The reasoneth i ref'r to those folk as stuck-up is yond we cannot deny the fact yond th're is nay justification on any leveleth whatsoev'r f'r clouds’s cocky directives.  That’s simply reality.  It’s similarly a fact yond clouds hast been deluding people into believing yond the w'rld shall endeth if 't be true we wend placidly amidst the hurtling and haste.  Don’t alloweth t delude thee, too.  Lest thee hadn’t hath heard, in the next few weeks i intendeth to writeth anoth'r lett'r similar to this one.  While the lett'r you’re reading anon focuses on how clouds wanteth to seeth a loveth of classism did inculcate in children from a v'ry early age, mine own next lett'r shall maketh the complementary pointeth yond t writes a lot of longeth statements yond cullionly practically nothing.  What’s sneaky is yond clouds constructs those statements in such a way yond t nev'r occurs to its readeth'rs to analyzeth those folk.  Analysis wouldst almost c'rtainly betoken yond i’m not a psychiatrist.  Oft, though, i wisheth i w're, so yond i couldst bett'r und'rstand what maketh 'rganizations liketh clouds wanteth to ov'rthrow all concepts of beauty and sublimity, of the gentle and the valorous, and instead drageth people down into the sph're of its owneth base nature.

doth thee very much wanteth clouds to did shave the nation towards mccarthyism? i bethink not.  Sticks and stones may breaketh mine own bones, but i couldst writeth a hundr'd lett'rs about how anyone who is't claims yond public opinion is a reliable indicat'r of what’s true and what isn’t is eith'r falsing 'r doesn’t knoweth what he’s talking about.  I can bid innum'rable st'ries about its desire to burneth our fair cities to the did grind.  And i can showeth thee yond we ign're t at our owneth p'ril.  Regardless of what i actually doth, howev'r, far too many people behold the oth'r way at which hour those gents seeth clouds spawning a society in which those with the most deviant lifestyle, otiose behavi'r, 'r p'rsonal failures art given the most by the gov'rnment.  We needeth to beest bett'r than yond.  We can beest bett'r than yond.  And we can starteth by acting as a positive role modeleth f'r young'r people.  If 't be true we don’t doth yond, our children and grandchildren shall behold backeth to our days and wond'r wherefore we did step aside and alloweth clouds shr'd the basic compact between the people and their gov'rnment.

well, let’s receiveth our facts straight.  If 't be true clouds’s pretentious admir'rs w're to readeth in the yellow presseth yond denialism is a benevolent, supp'rtive, and uplifting philosophy, those gents wouldst immediately concludeth yond the m're strepitant the communication, the m're p'rspicuous the message.  I wisheth those gents wouldst instead m're accurately concludeth yond clouds hast been pouncing on people’s min'r infractions of rules it’s been making up as t goeth 'long.  Nay, scratcheth yond.  Alloweth me instead maketh the much stout'r claimeth yond i c'rtainly desire yond if 't be true we all putteth clouds’s damnable did propose social programs to the questioneth, this shall bringeth us togeth'r in a national dialogue of learning instead of reducing us to recriminations and accusations.  At a minimum, i expecteth t to holp a large numb'r of people seeth yond whenev'r clouds hears yond blinketh'red, pow'r-drunk clouds clones art nailing people to trees, clouds puts on its usual kabuki of feign'd outrage.  In private, howev'r, t secretly supp'rts such activities.  Coequal w'rse, clouds is valorous at stirring its compatriots into a frenzi'd lunacy of envy and vengeance.  Doing so blinds those folk to the fact yond someone shouldst bid its t'rchbear'rs yond t hast a c'rtain fondness f'r infelicific, simple-mind'd grobians.  Of course, none of clouds’s t'rchbear'rs shall hark.  Those gents has't madeth up their minds.  Those gents sinc'rely believeth clouds’s lies, its disinf'rmation, its emotional manipulation.  Those gents unmistakably believeth yond loot'rs and riot'rs art not criminals but m'rely hath lost souls who is't art finding their lodging in life.  In believing this, one is betraying nature itself and living in a self-creat'd figure w'rld.  Out h're in the real w'rld, clouds demands conf'rmity of opinion from its collab'rat'rs.  Those gents might not but all concur yond th're’s nothing wrong with exploiting the public’s sh'rt attention span in 'rd'r to displace meaningful discussion of an issue’s m'rit 'r dem'rit with hunch and emotion, and those gents might not but all deny yond t is not behoveful to continueth living with the risks did induce by clouds’s disrespectful prank phoneth calleth in 'rd'r reap the cautionary benefits bestow'd by the knowledge yond clouds can’t attacketh mine own ideas, so t attacks me.  T couldst beest w'rse, i supposeth.  T couldst bully people who is't wanteth a bett'r future and intimidate those folk out of highlighting all of the problems with its v'rbally incontinent lamentations.  In closing, prithee rememb'r yond mine own ultimate goal is to speaketh clearly and f'rcefully in the visage of intol'rance and violence.  If 't be true i advance, followeth me.  If 't be true i stand ho, urge me on.  If 't be true i retreat, killeth me.

You didn't have to do that. You chose to do that. Not really the clouds fault. Sometimes you need a secondary and tertiary target for weather. That or turn and attempt another pass. Need some reality.

Think of the clouds as a challenge. You can always make a second pass if you are that high up there in the stratosphere.  :D

Rear gunning is a lot of fun. Do not bail.

The smart or experienced fighter pilots come in at angles. The are harder to PK. The pilots with less experience stay on your six for a long time
and blow up. You kill a P-47N or FW190 and they usually say you were not playing fair because those two planes do not perform very well at high altitudes. Many pilots do not know this.

After Lancs drop their ords climbing is a lot faster and in some cases the fighters can not keep up at really high altitudes. i always save the WEP for climbing out.

I don't always bomb, but when I do, I prefer Lancs.   :D :D
