85 Squadron RAAF Spitfire Mk V
« on: June 21, 2022, 05:42:35 AM »
Thank you to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin. This is an adoption of a skin originally submitted by Kev367th in 2006.

85 Squadron RAAF was formed at Perth in February 1943 and tasked with the defence of Western Australia from Japanese aircraft. They were equipped with Buffalo and Boomerang fighters but these lacked the performance needed to catch high flying G4M Betty bombers and so the squadron was never able to intercept one. In September 1944 they were re-equipped with Spitfire Mk Vs. These had most of their paint stripped off, bar their white ID markings and an anti-glare panel on the top of the nose.
