I found myself out of work, so I went down to the union hall to speak to the business agent who I had known for about 15 years. He told me that they were framing a school near my house, and they needed carpenters I had a framing business at one time it is fair to say I was an accomplished Carpenter and framer. So, I drove over to the job site found the Superintendent and started talking to him about a job. He asked me my qualifications and I answered his questions. He then asked me if I could work up high and I said yes. He again asked me my qualifications and we went over them and once again he asked me if I could work up high. He was younger than me and I could see that he was scared to do what we were talking about. So, I asked him how high are we talking about? And he answered 25 feet and I looked at him and laughed and said that's not high. I was actually surprised that I didn't get the job.

During the interview from my last job they specifically asked me if I was afraid of heights and if I could work on a ladder. I told them no, not afraid of heights but how high are the ladders?  15 feet.

LOL.

I found out later that they were asking because they hired a guy that refused to get on a ladder. and they turned out to be platform ladders. Like stairs. OMG.
