Anyone who commits violence in a protest should be prosecuted.

I think so, too.

Quote
But there is a fundamental difference

Folks who broke stuff or who got violent should be prosecuted.  Some trespassers should be charged with trespassing.

Importantly, there was a group of people doing coordinated, organized activity to get people into the building.  Those folks should be thoroughly investigated not just for their individual activity -- but also to discover if there was an organization behind it and what that organization is.  That hasn't happened for many of the folks on video doing it.

The investigation should be bipartisan.  And folks shouldn't be kept in solitary, or kept in jail without bail, or treated worse than usual.

The investigation should be bipartisan.

It's as bipartisan as Kevin McCarthy would let it be.

the test he took is to test for early dementia or impairments.  and no you cannot request one,  call your doctor.

Yes, you can.

It's like blood tests (cholesterol, a1c, thyroid, whatever).  Maybe your doctor refuses you.  But my doctors have always been willing to let me go for it if I want as long as they are sure they'll get paid.

You seem to be forgetting those charged with (and who have plead guilty to) Seditious Conspiracy.

That is is a bit more serious than minor trespassing.

There are more of those to come.  Some of them might be orange.

Being a survivor of multiple strokes I get one about every year or so from my neurologist. I ace them all in record time. Nobody's ever done that. Ever.

They're going to roll up the entire Oath Keepers and Proud Boys neo- fascist groups.  As more of them get crushed legally they will start flipping on their buddies and eventually on the members of the administration and members of Congress who they might have conspired with.

The DOJ and FBI can be quite persuasive once they get rolling.

Put a cattle prod up a horses wazoo you can teach them to deal a deck of cards.  It simply becomes a function of voltage.

They are missing a bunch of seemingly (judging from video) important organized agitators.

Oh, the ole FBI Agent Provocateur theory?

You've been hanging late nights with DmonSlyer drinking the Kool Aid and talking about trans-dimensional reptilian child molesters.

I'm a very lucky man, actually. Other than my deteriorating vision due to diabetes, minor balance issues and reduced stamina I'm actually in pretty good shape. Losing a toe to an overexcited 8 month old Pittie did not result in additional problems. It healed up wonderfully and did not result in infection spread (Apparently I'm a modern medical miracle).. I did lose 50 lbs in 4 months. I never knew big toes weighed so much.  :D

It's as bipartisan as Kevin McCarthy would let it be.

I'm not an expert on this topic, but it seems to me that 7 democrats, and 2 republicans (whom most other republicans neither respect nor trust), with Nancy Pelosi having veto power of who is on it, is not what I would call "bipartisan".

Also, cross examination seems mostly precluded.

It results in something closer to a political show trial than what I'd like to see.

We've already been over this.  Pelosi didn't have to offer them any slots.  She offered them 5 subject to approval.  Of the 5 one was a likely subject of the investigation, so yeah, that would be awkward.  The other was a complete nut job on the MTG scale.  Those were rejected but the other 3 accepted and he could offer two others for the ones rejected.  He chose to remove all his candidates.  That was his choice.

Oh, and remember this?

There are significant agitators shown in video.

You do think it is better to investigate *all* agitators shown on video (not just some), right?

We've already been over this.  Pelosi didn't have to offer them any slots.

Doesn't matter to me what she can or can't do.

Bipartisan would be one side picks who it wants.  Another side picks who it wants.  Cross examination allowed.

Anything else is biased and weak compared to court proceedings.

When you go to court, you get to pick a lawyer.  He can be totally biased in your favor.  The other side might consider him a nut.  But you get to pick.  And there is cross examination and discovery so that folks can fully develop the information.

If you don't have that, it's lame in comparison.
