Nah nah, we oughta arrange an Aces High con here in D/FW at the warbird hangar where I work! I'm sure we could arrange for some event, probably.

Shoot, might even be able to convince Dale to come out, he doesn't live far. I know Dichotomy and a few others are close-ish too. We have a pair of A-26 Invaders, a C-47 Goony Bird, T-37 Tweet, Lockheed Shooting Star, F-86 Sabre, and more, I'm sure y'all would get a kick out of it.

Oh- and all of those planes I mentioned are airworthy, minus the Sabre.

What's wrong with the Sabre? 

Well, this is one of the very last Sabres to be retired. Our Sabre was retired from the Bolivian Air Force in 1994 (crazy, I know!), and has sat derelict since arriving at our hangar. We have a whole extra set of wings and several extra engines, plus bajillions of other Sabre parts, but it's just too expensive and labor intensive for us, a volunteer-run museum, to get it back into the air.
So, we ended up just recently selling it to the Smithsonian Institution for the handsome sum of $150K. We'll be giving them a bunch of various parts so they can restore it to static display.

Basically, it gathered cobwebs. But I still get a kick out of climbing into its cockpit.

From looking at them they look remarkably stable though. Pretty amazing. I'd never get in one though.
