Very nice semp.  What's the efficiency ratio of the powerplant that makes the electricity?

my guess? the same as the one that makes electricity for your appliances, lights,  etc.

but you aren't complaining about those.

semp",

Those items are not making ludicrous claims, such as "saving the planet", "zero emissions", and 300+ mile range.

Highest electric bills ever this year and it is not consumption but rate increases as we used less power last month but had our largest bill ever...

Please keep tearing down what works and replace it with more expensive and less efficient methods

Remember that guy, a few years ago, who told you that your electric bill would necessarily go up.

Here is a business prospect to consider.

Buy a new fridge for $1000. Slap a label on it and say it has 0 emissions and buying this will "save the planet"

Stick on a price tag of $3000 and watch them sell like hotcakes to the gullible masses

a 1k fridge saves energy over a10 year fridge.  less energy less cost.

 :rofl :rofl :rofl

Bold of you to assume a new fridge will last 10 years, ours lasted 6. Like most new things they're designed to fail.

That 30 year old fridge that uses another 500$ a year in electricity is still more cost effective and better for the planet. If we gave one toejam about the trying to keep this planet clean we wouldn't design toejam to fail so it can be thrown into a landfill every 5-10 years.

But none of this is about saving the planet or the "environment", its about milking a cash cow.

all my fridges have lasted more than 10 years.  the current one is 2 years and was an improvement over the one we bought in 2010.  uses less electricity too.

Wait for one of the boards to fail in it after 2 years.
Whoops, thats a $200 board.
Whoops, its on backorder from china since we outsourced all this countries manufacturing jobs to a 3rd world communist toejamhole. It will be here in 4 weeks.

But LOOK!!! We have this new fridge in stock and you can have it TODAY!

They haul off the old fridge as courtesy to you so you dont have to deal with it and  fix it, selling it for $700. Made a profit on the new fridge and a profit on the used fridge they repaired for $200.

This exactly!

What used to be a simple repair now involves replacing an entire control board or if you're lucky finding a bad capacitor.
Build back better!!!

Its unlucky to have a fridge that internally is made with cheaply made chinese garbage

Gotta have the fridge with the built in ipad for recipes they don't use as they eat out 6 nights a week..

Every appliance we have replaced in the last 10 years cost more and operate worse than the ones they replaced dishwasher,  fridge and washing machine come to mind

Yes we live in a throw away world wich just has to be as green as it gets...
