I only carry my hands, they can be lethal so I have to be careful with how I use them...

Got a safe with various options in various calibers. It depends on what I'm going to be wearing (summer/winter clothes concealed carry) and to an extent where I'm going.

My old school fave though is a Colt Cobra in .38spl.  Light (14 oz empty), literally a fraction of an inch wider than most cc autos, 6 shots vs 5 in a S&W snubbie, essentially foolproof/jam proof. 6.75" in Long, 1.25" wide 4.5" high

This one isn't mine, just an internet pic.

Can't carry where I live, but would like to get a revolver for protection at home.

I've reached the point where I've stopped asking permission from people who've no authority to grant it

It depends on time of year (warm weather vs cold) and what I am doing. If I am going dress up slacks, shirt and tie I'll pack a Rugar LCP. Typical warm weather, and I do wear cargo shorts / pants, is a Sig 938 with laser. Cooler weather a Hellcat OSP with a crimson trace optic. Since I am far too fast approaching my 7th decade I like the red dot over irons. Once in a great while I'll drag out the old S&W 642 with laser but carrying extra rounds is a PITA for a wheel gun.

Almost all of my carry is pocket but I do have IWB & appendix holsters. There is no competition in the area so OWB holsters aren't being used as the ranges locally do not allow draw and fire practice due to liability concerns and far too many folks who lack training / skills. One would think the San Antonio area would have combat pistol competitions or at lease SASS but nothing shows up on search.

A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

To me, the idea of carrying is to arm myself for the retrograde movement. I have no desire to get into a 40 round spray and pray affair. I do carry a zip strip with an additional 6 though if I use the Cobra.

Even with the various capacity autos I bring along another magazine. Never can tell how far I'll have to retrograde.
