Everyone should want a cleaner world. However, hobbling ourselves while India and China pollute with impunity is like castrating yourself because your neighbor has too many kids. The ONLY way to solve this problem is by issuing the big polluters of the world an ultimatum:  You have five years to clean up your act or the reentry trails commence.

I don't think anyone should drink what pases for city water these days

I don't think we should pay 10x for energy when it doesn't do anything as china and india spit in our faces as they build numerous new coal plants monthly

In fairness, China also leads the world in terms of installed wind and solar power, and investments in energy storage batteries, electric vehicles, and ultra-high transmission lines—all key elements for a clean energy transition. The benefits of coal far outweigh the negatives. I'm sure the people that might be freezing the death in Europe wouldn't mind having some coal power plants fired up.

coal is only good if you grill or smoke some form of dead animal.

but since you asked there are coal power plants in europe, same as in texas. and texas froze last year.
