Might help if you posted your system specs, 1Cane.   IIRC you are using a 3-monitor setup.  Have you tried using just one monitor and resetting your game resolution to that monitor's resolution?   3 monitors requires pushing an awful lot of pixels.

My biggest frame rate hit is shadows, when I disable them I get 10+ more fps.    Also I moved the graphics sliders back toward the middle, reducing terrain detail, trees, etc.   Would be interested to see what your frame rate is like with minimum graphics settings and just one monitor.

I noticed nVidia just came out with new drivers.  If you have an nVidia card, might help to update your drivers.

I appreciate your input and will try a single monitor. All I can say is everything was working fine with frame rates until this map. I have AMD 7950 with 3GB. The triple cloud layer just sucks up the frame rate :bhead

I find shadows and reflections distracting at best and never enable them

Trying to understand why its HTC’s fault because the triple monitor can’t handle the game.

I think that may be it. This map might require just a bit more graphics card with the clouds and shadows, and add on triple monitors. I think your over taxing your system. I havent heard anyone else complaining about issues. I know I havent had any trouble, but I dont spend my limited time around the strats either.

Whiteman has complained about losing icons and poor frame rate
Bopgun has noted frame rate drop in two Posts his solution is to forego x-mass and get a new card,
My card is not even 6 months old can't afford a new card over this map

This has always been the balancing act that HTC has to work with....  people who won't / can't keep up with change.....  he upgrades..and by all other game standards wasn't a major upgrade... when we went to III... guys couldn't / wouldn't upgrade systems ...  toejame i think there are some who refuse to change from windows xp ....
So because he is trying to keep the OG's happy, he alienates the guys who have the meke systems because the graphics don't fit their perception...
a small change like more clouds causes systems to require a little more and this type of thing arises...and beratement occurs... you know what is going to happen.... he will probably fold to appease the crys of a few and remove the clouds which will inturn turn pull back once again on the forward motion everyone wants from this game...

And I'll bet that if you check the specs on those players computer they will have weak system to. You bought a cheap card and this is the issue you will you into. My card, while being old was a top card back then. Most of my numbers, you speed, memory speed, memory ram and so on it twice what your card is.

A solution for you is to either upgrade your video card, or turn down the graphics on this map.

I poked around and my frame rates are at 60 looking straight up at the clouds and from various bases on the map. My card isnt exactly high tech either. If there is a certain area/base to look at them at Ill take a look and see what it says

So you have a 10 year old graphics card and are running a triple monitor setup? Lol.

If you think it's the map, do a little testing in the offline practice arena.  If you have the same problem in another map in the practice arena, then it is not the map.  You might even be able to test the same map offline if it is available.
