Thank you for flying in Operation Husky!
« on: October 23, 2022, 01:12:33 PM »
Thank you, bold and dashing pilots of Aces High, for flying in Operation Husky.  :aok

There were epic aerial battles.  There were curses exclaimed and shouts of victory.  Acts of heroism and of desperation.

The gamut of human emotion and vitality played out in the delirious blue skies of Sicily!  :aok

Special thanks to Rocco and Ditto for stepping up to be CO's.  :aok

I hope that folks had a great time.

I flew P-40's.  We P-40's had a great time.  Sometimes we made it to target and escaped with our lives.  Sometimes we were caught and slaughtered to the last man.  Sometimes, while many of us perished, going down in flames while shaking our fists at the hated Hun, some battled their way out to land with shaking hands and shot-up planes back at base.

Now, with the battle over, we give a hearty <S> to our noble foes, the Luftwaffe and Regia Aeronautica!  :aok

It was fun for the time I was able to fly. Sadly due to becoming a cashier I missed the last 2 frames of this and FSO because of working 3-11s I am planning on trying to have earlier shifts or even use personal days to fly events if possible. But fun nonetheless.

I will also note, LNG, frame 1 -- 4 kills.  Frame 2 -- 5 kills!  Way to go, my friend!  :aok

I do not know any women over 29. My wife has been 29 for awhile now. In fact the 21st was her 29th birthday again.

Thanks for putting up with me!

When was that?  Just looked through all 4 logs and don't see anything like that?  Easily done though with killshooter off - just needs one stray bullet and you get an assist in killing a friendly.   :)

Yeah, was a bit late for me.  I'd begged for it to be earlier without success, so had to bite the bullet and stay up late!  I just couldn't miss the opportunity to pay my respects to such a wonderful person.  What an awesome thing you did though in giving her your 'old' PC!  That really is above and beyond!  Well done you for helping to make her last days in AH possible.   :aok

Sorry to hear of your missed calls, that must have been heartbreaking for you when you realised.

Anyway, thanks for watching my 6 during the scenario, looking forward to the next one!
