Thank you to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin. I am going to use it to replace Kev's "2TAF" NMF skin which in RL was actually a pilot's personal post-war unarmed hack and so should not be in the game. Like Kev's skin, this one is Polish and fills a gap as all my other Spixteen skins have 1945 markings.
This late variant Spitfire Mk IX was flown by Warrant Officer Henryk Dygala of the RAF's Polish 302 Squadron in late 1944. It had D Day stripes under the rear fuselage and some personal nose art of a blonde girl named "Pat". It was destroyed on the ground on January 1st 1945 as a result of Operation Bodenplatte, the Luftwaffe's mass strafing attack on Allied airfields.
