Low FPS with RTX 3070 & Ryzen 7 3700x
« on: December 13, 2022, 04:45:05 PM »
Heres my specs

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
16 GB RAM

For some reason, I get 20 fps max, even with everything disabled, or low. I have checked, and my card is the correct one that is selected.

Is there anything else I could be doing wrong?

What resolution are you at?  That seems low even if its a 4K monitor.

I'd make sure you have the latest nVidia drivers, and also run some sort of benchmark to make sure nothing is wrong with your system.   Does it play other games well?    You should be over over 140 fps even at 1440p with that system in AH.

I run everything else incredibly well. Resolution is 2560 x 1440, which is what im running the game at

External? You mean connected via USB?

No wonder! Although the transfer speed of USB3 is close to SATA3, there's other variables that can drastically slow it down. SATA is for disks only while you have a ton of gadgets connected to your internal and external USB ports which may actually be just a couple of ports split into several ones.

Not to mention, that even on new motherboards there's also a couple of USB2 ports which are 1/10 of the speed of USB3. Same goes for USB drives, older ones may still be USB2.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.
