WWI New Year Party 12/30

Please join us for our Annual WWI Combat Challenge. The event will take place in Special Events Arena 1 on December 30at 10 PM EST. It will last 90 minutes and all WWI aircraft will be available. We will be using the Somme terrain. If you have never joined us for this event, please do. There is simply nothing like it. White knuckled flying for 90 minutes straight.

Make sure you guys come fill up the skies in the madhouse that is a WWI furball. Even just 10 minutes will make your heart race and palms sweat.

wwi flying is just about the most fun that can be had in AH. I really love that arena when people are in there. I might join.

What I love is that it's pure dogfighting. You really can't run or dive away. Altitude advantage really matters very little so there's no alt monkey bnz stuff.

Plus, I find that the people are pretty great

I hope you people are getting ready for some crazy fights. 90 minutes of pure adrenaline, in less than 3 hours. Imagine WWI arena x 40. It will be epic!

I ended up going to bed early and missed it. How was it?

I had fun.

A lot of twisting, turning fights, with plenty of wood and fabric pieces scattered about the terrain.

Because it has always been New Year's Eve, not the day before.  I missed it too, for the same reason.

I got on for about 20-25 minutes. Had something like 14 sorties, with 13 assists a a couple kills. My aim is even worst in those planes!  LOL! Im not much for furballs, but it was fun for a bit. Them planes flip flop all over the place made it fun just flying.

I like the way the damage model works on those planes. A lot of the "minor" damage really affects the way they fly. And the performance of the  planes, the over-rev, and the way they will fall apart like toothpicks if you push them too much. I love flying right on that edge.

And the turning and looping. It's so much fun!
