What a story eh?  There are more stories about him in Gabby's and Robert Johnson's books, and he is famous among the Polish aces too.  I don't think I have read of a pilot with more fighting spirit.  There are many stories of him attacking greater numbers of Germans or pursuing enemy aircraft on his own at low level despite great danger.  In AH they would call him a "suicidal dweeb" for his tenacity but he just wanted to kill Germans.  Reminds me of my squaddies some times.       :)

PS I would sure like to see Lanowski's nose art in AH.  The armored fist crushing the German plane seems appropriate for the Jug.     :)

Yep that would be pretty sweet on a jet black P-47M.  :)
