Your best kill ever
« on: June 06, 2023, 10:08:33 AM »
Squad night with JG11.  I typically flew Stampfs wing and we ran into a formation of Buffs.  Stampf goes in and I follow trying to draw fire away from him.  Got a snapshot on a 17 and the kill message.  Next day I reviewed the film and we had cut that sucker in half.  Wish I still had the film.

Runner up was a LA came busting through our formation and we were flying, I think, 109's with the 30 mm.  I just loosed one from I think around 1000 (may not have been that far but it was quite long distance) and got a kill message.  That was a one in a billion shot.  Bet that guy was 'upset'.

Skyrock.  Winging on squad nite, we both went for the same bandit.  I was just a tad ahead of him and he killshot himself.  He went into a magnificent rant and we giggled about it all night.

Was a few months ago actually. Not one but had 5 kills in one sortie with a G-14. I usually get 0 so this was a cool moment for me!

Not sure what my highest in a tank is. I used to gv a lot more back when I first started.
Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

This was back in AH2.  The maps used to have half burned out buildings built into the terrain.  This was one of the dark gray ones with the half collapsed roof.  I was heading in one direction in a T-34 and there was another T-34 heading the opposite way, maybe 2600 yards to my right.  We were both moving, but I saw that I was going to pass right along side a gray building just as I want to fire, so I waited to time it, and from my turret/commander's position at full speed, I let a round go through a window of the gray building, and nailed the T-34 as he was looking right at me.

coming from you that sounds about right 🤛 💪 you used to be magical at times in this game. <S> I get sad when I see you get frustrated and rage quit because of bishop stupidity at times.

Mine was actually on MickyD.

Back in the TA, cirka 2011-12. We flew all sorts of planes against each other, and damn Mickey kept killing me... was close, every time, had long, entertaining fights with a wide variety of ACMs but he was the better one.
One of the rounds was fought in the Ki-84. As far as i remember, it was his main ride at that time, but it handles so close to the FW-190, which was mine. After multiple passes, turning tables and almost getting my bottom kicked again, could win in a tailwhippy rolling scissors match, and got a half-lucky snapshot on him. Not the most well deserved kill, but it was like taking a breath after a long dive. That was my only kill on him that night.

Good times, good fights. Salute!

RIP Akak  but after all the year we flew together and he tried to teach me the 38 along Murdr and Shuffler I becam the best crash test dummy in the blender. But when we I went to the dark side aka Axis one night I met Sir Akak in his 38 and I was in my 109 of death we merged clean and somehow by the luck of God I was able to do not what many could achieve I was lucky to get a kill off of my buddy Jose

One that sticks in my head is not long after they added the 410 to the game, I upped one and went buff hunting with the 50(55?)mm.  I got up to alt and found some buffs and settled into a tail chase at about 2000 yards.  I had one of Shuffler's fancy gunsights with the range markers, lined up the 2000 yard line, and pulled the trigger.  *BOOM* B24 careening to earth.

I have not hit another bomber outside 600 yards with that gun since... :D

... when I see you get frustrated and rage quit because of bishop stupidity at times.

I was getting frustrated for sure with the cheating, and I did quit, but in the actual moment I quit, there was no rage involved. I simply hung it up, went outside, and worked on the peach trees.  Took me a bit to chuck my Hotas, but that was me being lazy.

'Best' is relative. I can tell you one that sticks in memory. Dunno who and I can't give a precise when but it was a D-Pony in the Main that decided to turn at me and HO my C-Hog. Came at me blazing and didn't score a ping. I tapped cannons about 500 out and neatly trimmed off both his horizontals (not necessarily my intent) and he lost one axis of control. He held down this trigger as I passed over him  but his rotation couldn't keep up (still no pings). I just kinda went 'huh' as I flew on and wished I'd filmed it to see things from his vantage.  :old: :salute
