Anyone know what became of these AW Staff names?
« on: June 27, 2023, 07:48:56 PM »
Moggy, Mage, Vet?
I know some of the old AW peeps are on a FB group page,
I seem to have lost track of these guys through changes in life.

Moggy does dcs and has a youtube channel under his full name.

Mage seems to be into renfair stuff; archery, booze making, and cooking. As far as I can tell I don't he is into any form of pc gaming any more.

Both are on facebook.

The facebook group is probably "A kill has been recorded" it's set to Private: Only members can see who's in the group and what they post,  and Hidden: Only members can find this group. So you have to know someone.

Ya I was on that page/group in the beginning, can't remember why I dropped it. I have a few on my page, Blesk, Culero, Tom a few others, I'm sure I can get back on it. Prolly had to do with politics or sumthin negative. I'm good, thanks.

It's been pretty tame as of late, mostly aircraft, warbird, history, and simulation discussions/post.

Good, I may wonder back in, kinda missing my roots and other friends. Sure am glad I found some still lurking here. I'll stick to that side of the fence.

As for the link,...Last I remember of BB was me getting him setup with a new version of 3D Max to do an AW update. His post posted and the responses here really struck a nerve with me. I'm glad I wasn't here when it happened. I would have been banned for sure.

If HT has a use for me I'll help him out.

I think A Kill Has Been Recorded was a FB version of BW replacement, I think Trip finally had to let it go.

Thanks for the info <S> May cya there.

I think A Kill Has Been Recorded was a FB version of BW replacement, I think Trip finally had to let it go.

Actually Big Week was the original message board and test server name for the Air Warrior II beta back in 1996/97. It eventually became a NNTP Usenet newsgroup before Gamestorm was a thing and I think it got shut down some time around 2015-2018.

The "A Kill has been Recorded" Facebook group was started in 2008/09.

Edit: The BW NNTP went down a lot between 2014 and 2019 and was finally shut down at the end of 2019.

As per a FB post by Mike Engells on November 21, 2019

"BIGWEEK IS CLOSING

Per Trip (Steve Rawlinson):

'It's been more than 20 years since the bloodless coup that saw this  dweeb become benevolent dictator of bigweek.
Two decades later I have sold out of both the internet companies I've  been running since 1996 and will shortly be finishing the contract I  have with the new owners. The server this newsgroup sits on is about to  go to the big datacentre in the sky.

So, we need either to find a new home, or accept that there is no longer  a need for a place for old air warriors to argue in the cold light of  the post-fact era.

My suggestion is moving to groups.io, a web based service for discussion  groups. I'll go with the consensus.

Trip"
