Fighter Pilot Grades Hollywood WWII Air Combat
« on: October 24, 2023, 12:48:27 PM »
Pretty cool video if you have 20 min to kill. He does about eight movies maybe. I’ve never seen the movie Battle of Britain but now I want to! Some of Hollywood’s dogfights are a lot of fiction lol.

How do you all embed the video in the bbs posts?

Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

Eagler the youngster.  Problem with BoB 69 is that you can't rent it or buy it anymore.

1969 Battle of Britain gets my vote as either 1 or 2 on my list. The original Tora! Tora! Tora! is the other.

I watch each of them a couple times a year on DVD.

Good news oldman and fellow old farts… it’s free on MGM+ with a most regular cable subscriptions. Have your grandkids show you how to download it and get hooked in.

I am watching it now for freeeeeeee.

He didn't review the most-realistic WWII fighter film of all time:  1942.

I agree with the assessments of the films. If anything he was probably being generous in his scores. To me, the red tails movie was a waste of film / tape and a terrible disservice to the real Red Tails.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Watched BOB and it was totally worth it. I like anything with Robert Shaw and Michael Caine!
