I'll take that as a no. I'm not sure you see the irony in your OP from my perspective.

As long as you and your squadron is going to "choose" to fight at an unfair advantage......you can count on me calling out your crew for doing it.

You guys wont balance teams, nor will you fight the country with similar numbers.....you guys always gravitate to the country with no players, or 1-2 online.

Of course the 7 of you will do well....no doubt.

Piss poor sportmanship IMHO.

Drive you out of the game?

ALL I EVER asked of your squadron was....to be fair. You and your crew (X7 usually) would rape us, when we only had 1-2 online. Sure that would feel good on your side of the fence, but us 1-2...scrambling...unable to adquately fight back....yea, not a lot of fun.

So... I ASKED you guys to either stop rallying up against us, until we can get some players online.....or send one or two of you over to our side, to balance the teams. Nope...none of you wanted anything to do with that. You enjoyed raping us too much.

If wanting fair gameplay is a crime....then I am guilty. My efforts on this thread AND in game.......ALWAYS point towards hoping for the better, but as we can see by the attitudes, that is an uphill battle.

Wanting fair gameplay is fine.  How you handle yourself in the game is the complete opposite of the purpose of this post.  You are honestly on the top 5 list of people who shouldn't be qualified to make this post.  Hypocrisy.

Agreed.
Taunting has always been a part of competitive combat sim/games. No less than a neighborhood baseball game, always the cheat word. There are some who cross lines, sex, politics, physical threats. Passion means the game immersion is working.

That said, if one can’t take what they dish out thats when thin skin takes its toll in foolishness.

Its easy to call someone names while hiding behind an oak tree 200 yrds away, but when its handed back three run screaming for mommy. Typical baby seal.

Some of the smart ones took sim immersion, playing the whole game, over shallow waters of dweebery.

Former players have zero immersion, its usually full throttle dweebery, with no friends to keep. Vexations. They are former for a reason, nothing positive to contribute. Not serious at all.

These situations will always exist. Limit ones exposure.

Bigweek was not connected to AW forums, it was separate on nntp news group. It was never advertised, ya had to know how to find it. Now on FB as different name. A lot of steam got ket out there, (and a ton was of great ideas) without destroying the forums. O’club is AH BW, but its connected, it matters.

I’m not into conflict with someone’s kid who doesn’t play well with others. I also won’t allow pushing me to be a happy memory for them.

Its going to happen. Pick your poison wisely, or allow them to drag you into the baby seal sandbox. We all drop the ball once in a while.

Greetings:  I have not posted here in years but what the heck.  I used to play back in the days when there was a "canyon lands" map.   I tried it again a couple of years ago but it was like one wall of players from one side against another wall just to blast away.  No tactics or strategy or ACM. A couple of players even out turned me using twin engine bombers when I was in a Yak so I just quit. Sure seemed like people were messing around with the flight model.

I think good behavior went down for the count.  It seemed like when the younger players came aboard they played for different reasons like kill count and prestige and being obnoxious.  The older simmers like myself tried to work on air combat maneuvers and tactics etc. but the new guys just liked to swarm each other.

According to several  recent studies around 40%  of online players cheat these days.  "Griefers" are also at work,  accusing people of spying and having multiple accounts and you name it.  Years ago I thought "cussing" was bad but now bad behavior is over the top.

I read some place that Japan has/had some laws that made online cheating illegal- might not be a bad idea.

Anyway I hope you guys can still get in some fun flights and fights.

Having read this post i took it upon myself this morning to join cap against the morning knight horde.

Had a really good time flying with cap. My skill using dual accounts(ON THE SAME SIDE :x for those who dont know) was tested to its absolute limit during a succesful base take and subsequent defense of the captured base for more than an hour afterwords. It was intense. The action was absolutely insane from 4-6am CST. It was good to catch up with you Capera and it was a lot of fun competing aganst the Tropical Thunder and friends  :salute

Interesting note: Bigweek was the name of the event(s), Game server, and nntp news group used to beta test Air Warrior 2 in 96/97.

AWII was basically an AOL beta of AW3 and it never went live on Kesmai's Gamestorm service like AW3 an AW Classic (AW4Windows) did .

Not sure how it happened but at some point after the beta ended the News group ended up being its own thing taken over by AW players. This was around the time gamestorm Started. I'm sure there is a story there and I would love to hear it. Unfortunately The Big week news group got shut down a few years ago. I think its mostly been replaced by the Facebook group "A Kill Has Been Recorded'.'

I still think BW was funner ... It was almost anything goes yet there really weren't many fights rants or flame wars on it like you would expect.

I think the Tropical Thunder morning horde is down to one now during the week, maybe 2 or 3 on the weekends. My guess is cap is still harassing that one player relentlessly as usual.

Yep, didn’t want to do my usual wot on it. Good memory. I think we tested the server for 10,000 players at one time. It crashed. I missed the flight because of work.

There was some super serious flame wars in it after the fact. But OTOH, we had people like Earl  a test pilot of the era, who was so interesting to read his/their input, on AC history and our FM. BW went south when they brought politics into the picture. Why I’m so adamant about that here.

I put a heap load of work into that sim. Maybe a little obsessive.

I moved to “a kill has been recorded” for a while. Unfortunately same thing, politics ruined it for me, and left. I think you told me it calmed down.

My point being, I’d hate to see that happen here.  I know the destruction it brings.

BW had a draw of some very deep insights and intellect. I spent way more time there than on the forum. If you wanted to know it, you could find it there. But again, dweebs and baby seals brought the flames.

IMO, AH has a lot of life left in it. Pretty much same game, much different situation. Savable.

Thanks for that history input. Good times. Ha!
I hope things are well with you.

With our numbers falling, the responsibility of the gameplay “in” the main arena rests with each and everyone of us.

What I’ve been witnessing the last 6 months is veteran players of Aces High taking more enjoyment out of upsetting other players on Ch200, more that actually playing the sim.

I know a lot of players in game, think ole crappy is some sort of salamander, but ironically, I am anything but….but I am different than most that choose to fly AH….as I enjoy playing the sim, in a tactical manner. Thinking out missions, devising ways to trick the enemy…etc.

Even these forums. I have not posted here in a long long time….because anytime you ask a simple question in the FOURMS…..these dysfunctional player lurk here on the fourms, they simply never offer any positive input to the question. Actually…they take it to a nasty level, that it mades one not want to participate here either.

Last night I switched to Bish. I do this regularly, by my choice, to give me closer access to the Knit front lines. When I see where ex-RookCv25 was hidden, I repositioned it to a better location. The move was less that 1/2 a sector….on a hidden CV 8 sectors deep. The moment that I repositioned CV25, Osmium flipped out and preceded to attack my character and intent. He rallied the Bish and convinced them I was being malicious. Ironically….Osmium comes over to Rook almost daily, and is free to move CVs.

The behaviour of some of the BISH players last night was disgusting. Here we are….players that  have games together for year, and still….a few toxic players keep ruining the sim and intentionally trying to discredit other veteran players of the sim. This IS the stuff that makes people not even want to log in.

We are core community now. We don’t have 1200 droolies flying around. I’ve been playing and contributing to this sim 23 years….but unless Dale deals with these toxic, personally attacking players….i will be joining the other 1100 that left.

This place is ALL what WE make it it. Please don’t let the dysfunctionals ruin it for everyone.
In his defense, you were moving a hidden cv (21 I think) from a closed loop circle in the bottom left of the map, making it hard to bomb to a short distance away but straight lined (way easier to kill). Another cv (35) you sent straight to your old country waay up North. Both seem rather suspicious even if innocent, especially the hidden one. No reason to move it all. Just stating what I saw and yes i had a problem with the hidden cv being "set up" for a bomb run.
